Robert Bryan – Art for Conservation

Medium: Landscape, seascape, nature, hunting, fishing, impressionism

Artist Statement

I’m a landscape painter living in Harpswell Maine. My work is inspired by where I live, as well as by the mountains, lakes, rivers, and shorelines that I’ve visited while working as a forester, travelling in the wilderness, or when hiking, canoeing, and hunting. I need to experience and get to know a landscape before I can paint it well, and my paintings attempt to interpret and record the feelings that these places instill in me. I donate a minimum of 75% of my portion of sales to conservation as a way to give back to the land that has fed me, enriched my life, and provided me with a livelihood.
