Midcoast/Downeast Regional Group
The Midcoast/Downeast Regional Group restarted in 2023 when a group of artists in Knox and Waldo Counties got together for mutual support and exhibition opportunities. They meet bi-monthly either in-person at an announced location, usually alternating between the Belfast and Camden libraries. They have been very active and have organized many exhibitions at rotating locations along the midcoast of Maine. Exhibitions are free to enter for UMVA members, and some especially focus on artists who reside in these areas. The Midcoast Regional Group voted to update their name to the Midcoast/Downeast Regional Group in November 2024, since they have active members from both ares.

Portland Regional Group
The Portland Regional Group has been in existence for several years, many of which included a gallery in Portland featuring selective member exhibits each month. The gallery space was closed at the end of 2023, and since then a UMVA exhibitions committee has been formed and the Portland Regional Group has been exploring other locations, venues, and exhibition options. Group meetings are held on a variable schedule, and are open to all interested members.Â
Brunswick Regional Group
The newest regional group kicked off in 2025, started by current UMVA President, Joanne Tarlin. As this group grows and establishes a regular meeting schedule this section will be updated. So far in 2026 they have hosted both a slideshow presentation and a pop-up exhibition, both of which were well produced and attended.
