My work is informed by dozens of mid-century and contemporary painters and too many modernist photographers to count. I’m primarily interested in making reductive pictures of the real things I find in the real world, arrangements of tone and geometry that are often — but not invariably — abstract. Beauty without sentimentality is always what I’m after.
