Kristi Marsh began oil painting at twelve and has maintained a lifelong devotion to making art. Her path includes private instruction, community exhibitions, and formal coursework in drawing and oil painting at the Rhode Island School of Design. After moving to Maine, she formed a profound bond with the rugged coastline and became a Registered Maine Sea Kayak Guide, an immersive pursuit that reshaped how she sees and paints. Long days on the water—reading tides, shifting weather, wind patterns, and island contours—inform her luminous skies, expressive brushwork, and nuanced palette. Her oil paintings weave close observation with lived experience, capturing the color, atmosphere, and emotional resonance of Maine’s coastal landscape.
