Artist Statement
Born in Bar Harbor, Maine (1975), Greg Mason Burns earned a Master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh (UK) in European Politics, and Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Maine, Orono, in Journalism and Public Administration. Burns began his self-taught artistic career while living in Santiago de Chile in 2010, later developing in Brazil and the U.S.. He highlights emotional unknowns, with particular attention to societal pressure, adventure, fear, frustration, stress, and chaos, using a variety of media including: oil, acrylic, oil pastel, charcoal, watercolor, photography, and collage. Burns has exhibited internationally in Brazil, Portugal, Scotland, and the United States.
