My highest motivation in creating an image is for there to be a reference to our collective humanity. In my figurative work, there is an endless amount of knowledge to be gained by looking closely at a face or a gesture. The figure represents us, you and I, in either a landscape or an interior, alone or juxtaposed to others. If I am successful, there is a recognition of ourselves as being a part of all of humanity.
