In my current body of work, I explore the layered terrain of memory through abstract forms that echo architectural structures. Using a vocabulary of geometry, texture, and color, I construct spaces that feel at once deliberate and intuitive—places where what is remembered, forgotten, or reimagined coexists. These paintings emerge through a process of building up and breaking down. I apply paint, scrape it away, redraw, and revise—leaving behind traces of what was there before. This process mirrors the way memory functions: fragmented, nonlinear, shaped by time and perspective. Surface becomes history. I am interested in how contrast—between light and dark, soft and hard edges, fluid and structured elements—creates visual tension and emotional resonance. While formal relationships guide my compositions, I leave room for ambiguity and emotional nuance. The resulting forms suggest walls, portals, pathways, and boundaries, yet resist fixed interpretation. The Architecture of Memory is not about literal recall. It is about evoking the psychological spaces we carry within us—the quiet, complex architectures shaped by experience, perception, and time.
