How to Create or Edit Your Artist Page

PLEASE NOTE: This Step-by-Step has been created for members having trouble saving their Artist Pages. If you are sure your images are all .jpgs or .jpegs under 3MB, you may simply upload them in step 3. If the form does not save, it’s usually an image issue—in that case, try this workaround to save a text-only page first.

The Text-Only Workaround to Create Your Artist Page

The most typical issue with the Artist Page not saving is an error in the images—either file size or type. If you have tried to create your page and it will not save for you, I suggest creating a text-only page first, saving that, then coming back to add your images one at a time to determine which image is the issue. You may reach me, Shanna Compton, at admin@theumva.org if you need further assistance.

Steps for the Text-Only Workaround (Download these steps as a PDF here)

1. Log in to access the Members Area: https://theumva.org/login/

2. In the top red Members Area menu, click Create Your Artist Page. (Create is only used ONCE, or you will create duplicate pages. After your page has been created the first time, you will use the Edit Your Artist Page link instead.)

3. Fill in the form, without uploading any images. All fields marked with * are required. Click SAVE.

4. Once your page has saved, go back to Edit Your Artist Page in the Members Area menu. When you click that, you will see your page listed, and two small icons in gray to the far right. The little pencil is for EDIT. The little trash can is for DELETE (which deletes your entire page, not recommended unless you want to start from scratch). Click the pencil.

5. In this form you can edit what you’ve previously saved (if needed) and upload (or change) your images. You may log in to the UMVA website to edit or update your Artist Page at any time, to keep things looking fresh.

The Feature Image is the one that displays on the main UMVA Meet Our Artists page, and your Gallery Images are those that appear on your own page.

Upload your images and click SAVE. Please note: All images must be .jpg or .jpeg file types. If you have .png, .webp or any other image format the form will not save. All images must be less than 3MB in file size. If any are over that maximum, the form will not save.

6. If your form is not saving in these steps, one or more of your images is the issue. If you are not sure which image is causing the problem, try uploading/saving one at a time, and repeating Edit Your Artist Page steps to upload each one individually.

I hope this step-by-step helps! If you need me to check your images you can email them to me with a description of what is happening: admin@theumva.org.
