Jewish-themed artwork by UMVA member artist Gail Wartell is on display at Temple Beth El in Augusta through the end of October.

“This is the first time I’ve shown this work as a collection of my own, though some pieces have been in group shows. Work includes pieces produced in conjunction with the Maine Jewish Artists Chavurah, with themes of the story of Ruth, Sukkot, and Purim. Other pieces include ancestor portraits and the series Sanctuary After Pittsburgh.”

The exhibition is available for viewing during synagogue open hours. You may wish to check their calendar or check with the office.

In addition, Gail has a piece in the Sukkot show at the Maine Jewish Museum in Portland through the end of October.
