My work is informed by dozens of mid-century and contemporary painters and way too many modernist photographers to count. I’m primarily interested in making reductive pictures of real things in the real world, arrangements of tone and geometry that are often — but not invariably — abstract. Beauty without sentimentality is always what I’m after.
